Dreamcast & Black Magic Intensity Pro

Hello, I want to capture my Dreamcast display with HDMI to my capture card but after 2 minutes it goes crazy. I did put the vga cable into my VGA to HDMI converter and then into my Capture Card. The picture is always 16:9 instead of 4:3 and i cant find any option to change it. Maybe thats the problem, bit for 2 minutes it runs really nice. After 2 minutes or so the pictutre starts to look damaged, like everything seems "doubled" and its full with lines! Does anyone know how to force it to 4:3 aspect ratio? Maybe that solves the problem. I tryed to put the VGA cable directly into the VGA port on my TV and there its running without problems in 4:3 aspect ration. Same when i put the HDMI into my TV.

The VGA cable will not affect the display ratio of the image. It seems like your vga2hdmi converter stretches the image from 4:3 to 16:9 itself. If this is the case, you can't really fix the issue without changing the converter but it might be worth checking if your card can force a 16:9 signal into 4:3. I personally got a "mini vga2hdmi" converter that preserves the ratio just fine.

What kind of VGA cable you got? The ones from beharius and cabou are great, as well as the official VGA boxes from SEGA, but some cheaply made VGA cables have lot of issues.

I got one from a german manufactor, it looks a bit cheap (did cost about 45usd). I get next week the HANZO vga box, i will test it with the BOX as soon as i get it. But on the other hand, if i use the cable on my TV its working fine. The aspect ratio stays fine if i put the HDMI cable from the converter into my TV. It recognizes it as 4:3. On the capture card its not 4:3 but it dosent look stretched for some reason. Did Shenmue support widescreen? All i know is it starts to go crazy after about a minute. The first minute everything looks normal. Here i captures the process: *EDIT* ok it seems its the CONVERTERS fault, as soon as the picture was going crazy, i put the HDMI cable from the card into my TV and there it showed the same corrupted image. TO make sure its not the Dreamcats fault i did change the VGA cable from the converter into my TV and there it looked perfect. So it has to be the converter -__- damn! So what is now the BEST way to capture dreamcast on PC? Would a VGA to component adapter work better?
