A while ago i bought the Hanzo VGA Box from beharius > http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?42388-Dreamcast-VGA-box-amp-Scanline-generator It works nice. It even worked nicer on my older HDTV model. A month or two ago, i bought a new HDTV. I forgot the main aspect that the HDTV needed a VGA input as well. This new model has no VGA input. So now i have a VGA Box with no purpose, and i dont want to hook up my Dreamcast with a dirty, disgusting SCART cable again. Until i saw on eBay or some sorts that there are VGA to HDMI converter boxes available. Now, i asked one of these sellers about the fact 'will it work?' (Dreamcast > VGA Box > HDMI convertor > HDTV) and he came up with 'it should work, i never tested it?'. Before i start blowing shit money away on nothing, i'm asking for some expert advice here. 1. Which converter will work? 2. Which converters are the best? 3. What should i aim/look for? Will something like this or this work?
The first link you posted will definitely not work its hdmi to vga (so that's the exact opposite with what you want). The other one (the $22,99) should work perfectly.
Thanks dude. I was thinking AG was a dead forum -_- I think i have those lying around, somewhere. Doesnt the audio output run trough HDMI > TV?
Yeah on some of the most stupidest things people need to answer, but when someone asks a simple answer it's too hard to reply But the audio does run through the HDMI cable. Watch the second link again and you will see your audio plug is needed to connect the Hanzo with him (audo-in).
Hi Guys, Hate to hijack and bump a thread but best to ask rather than get a new one going. I have a VGA to HDMI scaler (a cheap Chinese one but pretty good). My Dreamcast VGA cable is terrible though and I know it's the cable itself. I am thinking of getting the Hanzo - My question is, will the scanlines come out on the other side (HDMI) from the cable? If it doesn't, it doesn't - Just curious.....
