    Hi all

    new to the forum!

I read on another forum that somebody on this forum has a fully working mp3 vmu player (like the one in picture below)

If true would it be possible to get some pictures of it etc?

    thanks

Not sure if that person is still around but yes I do remember it coming up. Chances of images coming up now are slim though. And as far as it working I really doubt it. I think they were just prototype models with no real software complete for them. Same with the Zip Drive from what I remember reading.

I believe there was a custom someone made from a VMU a few years back. That may be what your thinking of but the ones shown had nothing electronic inside. Case only.

someone had the zip drive and it had mechanics/electronics in it.

IIRC the mp3 vmu was a shell only.

Spot on afaik. I don't recall if the zip drive actually functioned but there were electronics inside. Likely it was because there wasn't any software that could actually use the zip drive rather than the electronics being non-functional.

The MP3 player is a shell best I recall. Same with that Dreamcast DVD player that amounted to a Dreamcast on a chip as ODCM once put it.

That's what I had in mind but was going to use some of the VMU buttons for volume controls. Sould be a very simple build as well.

I want to buy an iPod Nano just to do that with a VMU; that is so amazing and very easily done. Should buy in bulk and sell those on Ebay! haha.
