Dreamcast Widescreen Hacks

You can try testing disc images in an emulator so you don't waste as many discs.

Good advice for anyone making backups of their games...

 

I actually did it, tried in emulators before start burning discs. Unfortunately I had unexpected behaviors, like this disc will boot in the real machine but in the emulator I get the cd player screen. Go figure.

I tried the old selfboot method, the new data\data method, no luck unfortunately.

 

Request for Gun Spike (Cannon Spike) NTSC-J widescreen code for Codebreaker.
I've been looking online but no luck. Is there a way to convert a different region code to another region?
As I've seen codebreaker codes for Cannon Spike NTSC U?

 

Did you by any chance try the hex edit? It's really easy. Takes about 10 seconds. I did not get it to work however. Still looking for the correct version to patch.

 

No I haven't. At the moment I'm trying to play with original gd-roms because I prefer that and my physical library is not very big. Eventually I will invest in a different method.

 

Request for Sports Jam & Virtua Athlete 2K hex edits. Especially for the multiplayer modes.

I have an ask : if I understand well after reading the firsts pages of this topic, this is the gameshark code.

But for shenmue and F355 challenge the code has been injected directly in the game. I'm trying to inject the widescreen hacks for grandia 2 directly in the game, but how can I proceed for that ? the code to search is not include in the 1st_read.bin... I have loocked with an hex edit.

There is one big game missing: Sega Extreme Sports. I know Esspiral made an attempt on this one but perhaps someone will give another try....
