Does anyone have any idea what format the pictures were taken in and how it was connected to the dreamcast?
Concerning the format, this has been a little bit discussed, but no extensive info was given: http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23790&highlight=dreameye Concerning the connection: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_aMUVoca4BU0/STwASJv_vFI/AAAAAAAABIA/30cVry9CKwM/s400/DreamEye.jpg or http://public.bay.livefilestore.com...Tv0PfyCaf31RGVD9ZQDKg/Dc_DreamEyeLoose_01.JPG (ie the camera via a gamepad port, and the micro via a special vmu)
It uses plain jpeg compression for the pictures. The cable is just a special maple connector on the camera side (though I'm not sure anyone has done a pin mapping), and it connects just as a controller would. There is an FOSS picture manager for it and a driver for KOS: http://dcemulation.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=72&t=98503 . As of now though we still don't have information on the video, which is encoded in the seemingly proprietary 'JanGu' video format.
