For me the system with boot loader read everything from the external serial port and the "standard" system with bios mod read the deamshell from the cd hardware. is that right ?

I'll use the version with a boot loader in a first time.
If I use a bios mod, the loadings during the game will be more faster ?

Do you know a tutorial showing how to use a bios mod ?

If your using GDdrive (and it works)
You don't need bios mod...

Just boot from CD the HDD...

But its faster with the bios

The speed with an SD card depend of the card flow rate or it's very limited by the serial bus of the dreamcast ?
Shall I see a difference between a "classic" card at 30 Mb/s and a flash card at 260Mb/s ?

I'm trying the DS file made by megavolt 85 called 'DS megavolt"
I tried to insert some covers and it's very nice !
Inside the DS megavolt there is two news softwares looks amazing called "gdplay" and "console". Someone could explain me what they do excatly please ?

A new version of isoloader (0.6.5) for dreamshell is in progress :


Swat focus on the PIO data transfert.
Shenmue I run with this version via CF or sd card reader.

 

For some dreamshell users Swat has released an update for iso loader with hdd mod:

This update is build in order to use cdda tracks with PIO but with the new gcc, maybe some new games will be compatible with dreamshell.

Actually I notice no change with the gcc5.2 version instead of the original, with the gcc7.1 version no change with the game 4xwheel thunder there is always no loadings after the intro... But with the game deep fighter the cdda is running well with the gcc7 version !

So with some test, I hope we can have some good news

I also tried the new sd.bin from the iso loader beta version, you prabably now it's working with shenmue I but I have a good result with the homebrew game alice dream tournament, with the standard version the game crash during the intro and you had to switch it before the end, and now everything works well.
At the same time I tried 4 wheel thunder with hdd, I tested 4 wheel thunder with this new sd card mod software, and the cdda run well as before in sd card, no crash when I did some pause and the intro run almost well (due to the limit speed of serial port of dreamcast) but here too, it's clearly better.
Same thing with neo4all, better result with sidekick 1, now I have the players on the ground ^^

If you tried them update please tell if you notice some difference.

 

Did they ever correct the problems with most dumps, i.e., that you needed to rebuild specific ISO's patched for DS to load them?

Are these newer versions compatible with the GDEMU?
