I have installed a hdd in my dreamcast. For the bios I have used: boot_loader_devkit_nogdrom.bios. The file came in DreamShell 4.0 RC 4 + Boot Loader. I have copied the DS folder to the hdd. The problem is that the Dreamshell will not boot unless I have the gdrom connected. What am I doing wrong?
You will have to attach AICA clock manually to pin B23. You need to install an active crystal 33.8688 MHz See Here for schematic http://www.dc-swat.ru/blog/hardware/874.html Also see this link http://www.dc-swat.ru/forum/thread-2257.html Source: https://fnhack.wordpress.com
No, because the crystal from GD-ROM board is not an active type. Alternatively you can use the signal from the main clock generator, wiring test points P096 to P154 http://i1027.photobucket.com/albums/y338/GillBert74/Dreamcast/Images/DC jumper AICA_zpsymibmnn6.png
Thank you, I will try to link those points. If I do that, I will have problems with some games? EDIT: I have tried the wire method, but it isn't working.
After all this time I found some crystals. But it still doesn't work without the gdrom board. Is it ok how I connected the crystal?
