Various parts of my collection, mostly protos, but some other non-proto Sonic stuff, for retro's collection competition. Sorry for the crappy quality of some of the pics, I took them with someone's camera (because mine's broken). By no means it's my complete collection, but it's the most I could find/take pictures of before the competition deadline All pictures are clickable thumbnails (click them to open a much larger photo). Sorry for the watermarks, I hate them as much as the next guy, but it's to prevent someone outside the forum from putting fake items on ebay. All prototypes are released or will be released on my website -> http://www.hidden-palace.org/ Thanks to dot50cal who had the gamecubes and dreamcasts for a while and I used his pics Sonic 2 Early Alpha Pics of the case, and the board inside. One of my best finds ever. Sonic 3D 8-19 Beta Got two carts of that, found in two different places. Funny how things end up in weird places. Sonic Crackers Most common Sonic proto ever Old pic of Sega MD protos etc. Some of these were sealed and I had to unseal them to dump them! Good eye I still haven't released anything from Disc #1,3,4, because I've yet to recieve #2 Mostly they are finals (which are interesting for final build dates), but there seem to be some unreleased/undumped games there as well.
It's an unreleased English translation of the game Blue Almanac (which is in Japanese). It's a final build, I wonder why it didn't get released (it was advertised in mags even) Gonna release this in a few days, when I get some stuff sorted out.
Nice collection there! I will always have a soft spot in my heart for the Genesis and all the versions of Sonic. --Selgus
wasabi is a piece of crap compared to argon. belive someone who install 5 modchips a week (studies are far from being cheap so...) anyway, it's like xbox it does not boot betas at all.
Awesome collection! You should really cover the UV spot on that chip on in the center on the right. You don't want to loose what is on there..:icon_bigg
I won't. It's all dumped so it's always possible to reburn the EPROMs if they fail. That's the beauty of backing up your prototypes. Besides, I keep them in a very dark place, so no sunlight gets in there anyway. As for the RVT-R disc, you need an RVT reader just to play the disc. And even with that, there is no known method of dumping the contents. And even with that, I still wouldn't be able to release the contents for a long while (or I could get someone in trouble)
Do you know where that preview copy of Sonic Shuffle came from? I remember playing a "demo" version of the game at E3 one year, but can't remember if it was a Japanese copy or a limited display copy of the soon to be released American version. I think it was the year at E3 that they had all the Space Channel 5 performances and dancers. HOT!
That's a really exceptional collection you got there. Pretty generic comment, I know, but I don't know how else to put this in words. An alpha version of one of the most well-known games from a big company... impossible to find, you really have a little treasure there. I'd also be interested in how you created&and what program you used for those watermarks on your pictures ^^
