I have an original DS with a problem:

Even after a few hours of play after recharging, the battery light seems to start blinking between green (battery is fine) and red (low battery)

I did replace the battery, the replacement being an official Nintendo battery, but I am still getting the problem!

    Any ideas for a fix?

You either got another bad battery from Nintendo (possible), or that is something inside your DS that died/broke and it's causing your DS to drain the battery faster.

You can either find another battery and see if that helps, or buy a new DS.

I've seen one do that, it was the power switch (internally) which was oxidized. Maybe try spraying some contacts cleaning fluid in it with the console open ?

But, it was a DS Lite, which uses a slide mechanical power switch. In the original DS the power button is a push button, no ?
