Well, I was never really good at explaining things, but I'll try.

These were cartridges were sent out to stores like Best Buy, Gamestop, Etc. to use for promoting new/upcoming games. What the cartridge is, its a local wireless distribution service. You use DS download play to access the demos/videos being distributed via the special cartridges. Sort of like playing VS. in Super Mario 64 DS, except they're all one player demos.

I also found a short Wiki article on these, and it can be found here:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_Zone#DS_Download_Station

If you have any more questions, I would be more than happy to answer them, so ask away!

Thanks alot ! Also for the additonal wiki link.

Now, what could I achieve by putting these on my R4 card...endless possibilities in exchanging/transfering data "somewhere" ? ;D

I whipped up a quick animation that will hopefully explain this better than I can with words
    Explain.gif
I think this is how it work:
Computers can use local wireless in the same way DS systems due, thus they are incompatible.

    nice one ;D

I understood the "send demos to DS" part from the wiki and that it wont work on PC via emulation.
So basically, thats it...send demos / data...

Im not deeply into this, but 2 DS could already communicate when playing VS. games...and it had WiFi.
So why this extra card...beeign aware there was an Opera Internetbrowser card which I sitll have...hmmm hmmm

Ahhhh the Download Station, I remember it well. Back in the day, I used to work for a retailer in the UK which happened to have one of these Download Stations from Nintendo. It was black, about 2ft wide x 1ft deep x 1ft high, and was made of metal. It was also padlocked at the front and as I recall, there was some sort of long metal rod we needed to poke into the side in order to turn it an and off. We were never told what was inside the magic box and although we were provided a key, we were told not to open it unless otherwise instructed. Needless to say that didn't last long. Inside were 3 x DS consoles, each with one of these Download Station cards inserted. When the box was plugged in and powered on, each of the consoles would boot the card and begin transmitting whatever contents was on the card via WiFi. If you happened to be in the shop and searched for a Download Play session, you'd hook in to one of these consoles and transfer the content from the card to your system.

There used to be a way to hack a very specific Belkin PCI WiFi card on the PC with drivers and a piece of software which would let you emulate the Download Station using a ROM of the card. It effectively rendered the WiFi card useless except for that purpose though.

I can't remember what ever happened to our Download Station, but I know one thing for sure... Nintendo forgot about it the minute they delivered it. We never even received any updated cards for it :(

This is probably a disappointment to you, but these have already been dumped. But do you mind if I add your hashes as "redumps" to the No-Intro dat?
