After a brief borrow of my friend's R4, it seems pretty clear that I want to get myself some DS homebrew. However, theres' always the temptation to just download commercial ROMs, so I ask is there a Homebrew loader that can't load commercial ROMS/disallows them?

But that would also mean no prototypes/demos.

Yeah. Self Control can be pretty hard, but I guess it would be worth it for the 'brew. On the topic of this, does anybody have one that they want to sell?

There was one, I don't remember the name right now, BUT:

    1) It is obsolete now which means that...

    2) ...its homebrew compatibility is not good

Just go with an R4i and the Wood Firmware or somethin'

Supercard DStwo is also great for homebrew!

Datel Games 'n' Music is homebrew only, but get a DSTWO. You get homebrew that utilizes it's onboard cpu and works on all DS systems, any update.

Wood R4 firmware my friend, totally revived the R4 with perfect rom compatibility, I regret selling mine a little.

If you want shitty compatibility, go for some obscure clone with shitty support or an ancient cart... the cheapest of the cheapest.

I have a supply of original r4's somewhere.

They are great with the wood firmware, just shame about lack of SDHC support.
