Hey guys, I need help with my DS Lite because the GBA/Slot-2 won't work anymore. Every cart I've tried doesn't work, tried cleaning the contacts but no luck. It just doesn't detect my games. Altough it works just fine on a GBA.

Cart slot in the DS may be dirty. Try cleaning it if you haven't already.

Cleaned the carts with q-tip and alcohol. So far, I only got 4 games to work:
    Pokémon Emerald
    Pokémon Ruby
    FF: Tactics
    FF6: Advance
    These games didn't work:
Zelda: A link to the past/ Four Swords
    Pokémon Shinygold
FF' I & II: Dawn of souls
Yu Yu Hakusho Ghost files: Spirit detective
    FF4: Advance
    Medabots: AX?
    Contra Advance
    Dynasty Warriors Advance

Could be the carts wearing out? Or not.

If they work in a GBA then the GBA cartridge slot in the DS lite is dirty. You will have to clean that slot somehow.

Those were the games that I tested on the DS. But suprisingly others that were listed as non-working work fine on a GBA

Then that means the GBA cartridge slot inside the DS itself is dirty and not the games. You'll have to find a way to clean the pins in there. You could try the credit card method or a cartridge slot cleaning kit.

To second what Joey is saying here. The slot 2 is dirty. Not the games. Clean the slot. Not the games.

could also be that some GBA games have thicker PCB's, the pins could be:
    1> Dirty
2> Bent and not making good contact
    3> all of the above

Worst case the cart slot needs replacing, common problem on the DS slot too
