WARNING nerd rage below: I'm returning to Japan in a day and as I'm about to pack my EURO DSi I actually bothered to look at the AC Charger. I was sure that Nintendo wouldnt be this retarded but I was wrong, this piece of crap is only labeled as 230V. Seriously Nintendo, WTF?! Its the only handheld device I own which has a non-universal AC charger. Anyone tried using the EURO 230v adapter in a 100-110v outlet? Is it just mislabelled or am I going to have to buy a 100-110v charger? As I was finishing my post I just noticed my DS Lite is also 230v only. F*ck you Nintendo, you are never getting my money again.
Well, it is made for the European market. By making it non-universal, they probably saved a few pennies per adapter.
Shouldn't be that much for a new charger. You're paying to fly there, I don't see how an extra $10 or so is rage-worthy.
As others have said, it's not like a power supply is a ridiculously complicated thing to find. I have several devices that have voltage-locked power supplies, so it doesn't really surprise that the DSi has one too.
It's a good old fasion internet nerd rage. Stumping your toe is good enough reason to nerd rage that it's someone else fault. ;-)
100yen shops usually do not sell 600yen goods* But I do agree, till you probably found a 100yen shop, it's not worth saving those 500yens. (* I know they do for some special goods).
Finding a 100 yen shop in Tokyo can be a fun experience, but you should find a USB lead (for more then 100 yen...) walking around akihabara.
After going through several 100yen shops with no luck I had to buy a 600yen cable at a BIC CAMERA, 19min after leaving the store I stumbled upon a 100yen store which had these for 100yen LOL
