Has anyone had any problems with the DSi? I bought one last week and it refused to play any MP3 track and crashed whenever i tried to conect to my router :-( Sent it back today so here's hoping that the online problems was due to a faulty DSi and not something to do with my router (Netgear).
It's a portable device, uses SD memory cartridges and has reasonable audio output? Although I have an MP3 player that runs off AA batteries and uses an SD memory card expansion, if I run out of juice I could use my PDA with the SD cards and play them that way. Although the fact the DSi uses AAC files is retarded.
The DS has LOTS of problems with different routers, My GF had a problem with hers that was given to her by verizon she had to go out and buy her own linksys for it to work.
Not everyone has a fancy dedicated music player. This would have been great if my CD MP3 player didn't die then get replaced with my car's audio system.
I had an SMC router that worked for my DS, but not my Wii even though it was listed as a compatible router. I had to use the wifi adapter until I got a new seimens router
Got my replacement DSi this morning and is working great. Got 1000 free DSi points but the shop is almost empty, think i'll hang on to them for a bit till they release some more games.
Sorry mate, but its more probable that you had wrong settings on your router. Point in case, my Netgear router, which is compatible with all my gaming appliances, including the picky DS-phat, wasn't detected by my Wii. The answer seemed to lie in changing the channel from my then 13 (default is 11) to 5, and now it works like a charm. That said, with so many houses having a Wifi router as well as dozens of other interfering devices, it's a real frequency clutter and I always stick to using a cable when it comes to serious networking.
Indeed it's good to use a program like Network Stumbler to see how many devices are using the same channel and how strong they are.
Yea, maybe. I did everything I could, fallowed all of the online instructions I could find, but nothing seemed to work. I would have loved to do the wired connection, but it seems that Nintendo never released one. It said on their website that one was coming soon, don't know what happened there.
