My aim in making this thread is to list which donor carts are 'complete' and which are lacking parts to help people wishing to add DSP-1 support to their Super Everdrive.

So far, I've only harvested from 2 carts so I need your help.
Please mention the game's name, its region, and the parts present.

I'll update this front page every so often to make a concise list. Thanks!

To make your Super Everdrive capable of playing DSP-1 games, you need 3 things:
    1. DSP-1 chip (IC with 28 legs)
    2. 74HCU04 chip (IC with 14 legs)
    3. Clock Generator
(a little white box with 3 legs)

Confirmed to have all required parts:
    PilotWings (EU)

    Missing 74HCU04:
    Final Stretch (JP)
(some versions of Mario Kart? those with a DSP1-B? need region/revision details)

I'm pretty sure the Super Everdrive I got from Stone Age Gamer has a DSP-1A, I have no idea if that cart has the other parts you'd need but hopefully that is a place to start.

Edit: Just checked, it is indeed a 1A

Yep, I knew it was a DSP1-A. Thanks. I assume that if Stone Age Gamer used it then the game probably comes with all the required parts - but there's always a chance he grabbed a missing part elsewhere. To know for sure I'll need someone who has opened one up themselves. I hope StoneAgeGamer sees this thread (he'll probably be able to populate the entire list himself !).

Games I use are: Lock-on, Ballz, Pilot Wings, Michael Andretti's Indy Car Challenge, and Super Bases Loaded 2. Not because these are the only games with required parts but because they are cheapest and easiest to get in US. I believe all DSP-1 games no matter the region have the correct parts, but KRIKzz could answer that better than me.

Some carts do not have all the parts. But you can easily order 100x 74HCU04 for like $20 or something

all dsp chips is good enough, and they is same for both regions. 74HCU04 sometimes not present inside of cart, but there is not any depends of game. one of two carts with same game may have 74hcu04 and another one does not. so does not matter which donor cart will be used

PilotWings (JP) has all the necessery chips (DSP1+74hcu04AP) and XTAL (7600A)

    PilotWings (JP).jpg

    Hope the info is useful.

Just fitted all the components to my SuperEverdrive and it works perfectly.

    p.s.

A hot air heatgun really helps with the removal of the DSP chip, all other components can be easily removed with a plunger type solder sucker but the DSP is pretty stubborn, it took about 7 minutes to remove the 74hcu04AP with the sucker and a little bit of prying with a screwdriver, for the DSP1 I used the heatgun and it came off in less than a minute (tried the sucker on it earlier and didn't have much luck), should have used the heatgun for removal of all the components, would have been alot quicker and easier.

I wouldn't say the list is useless, a complete list would cut out alot of headache and guesswork.
