    yes, it does. but hd advance is dead since long, and with your ps2 u can run easily the fmcb installer, and install open ps2 loader to your memory card.
    but of cause u can also run a old hd advance/hdloader version from cd-r.

    HD Advance will boot on your console, and if you feel you need to buy it try ebay etc. Your console will boot burned "patched" disc too, but unless your PS2 is of the DTL-H30102 or later variety not DTL-H30002 you WON'T get FMCB running on it, as the early TEST consoles Mechacon wont allow magicgate encrypted files to boot.. i.e. DVD updates, HDD OSD updates, and FMCB.. I use a burnt disc of uLE on my debugs, and boot the apps i want from there.

    Hi there thank you for the replies a my dtl-30002s has no magic gate on it, I have tried getting hd loader as an iso and patching it with disc patcher v3.0 but if I try and patch it as a master disc I get an "error patching disc" message. Assembler has said it is possible to patch an iso to use on this model.

    You'll have to extract the files from the .iso, rename the hdloader.elf (or whatever is its name) to something proper like SLUS_123.45, edit the SYSTEM.CNF to match it, recreate an .iso or a bin/cue and patch that.

    Sorry to pop your fun, but DEVKIT PS2s won't boot retail KELFs from a retail MC. It will only accept to boot KELFs from the DTL-H10020 card.

    DTL-H3000x don't have any Magic Gate capability besides the minimum necessary to unlock a memory card for saving.

    So only way of booting Open PS2 Loader, USB loader or anything else is from a Master Disc ISO burnt on a CDR or DVDR...

    DTL-H10020 is the AC Adaptor for the external hard drive, were you referring to the SCPH-10020 TDB Startup Card?

    My bad, indeed SCPH-10020 TDB. I assumed because the arcade dongle is COH-H10020.

    I even have two DTL-H10020 power supplies here ... lol

    I tried what you said I mounted the .bin image extracted the DUMMY3, HDL.elf and System.cnf

    I renamed HDL.elf to SLES-12345.elf adjusted SYSTEM.cnf accordingly,

    Then I patched with master disc patcher v3.0 and woohoo success,

    I then burnt to a CD-R, placed in my PS2 and it recognises the disc as a PS2 disc nbut won't boot the disc it momentarily goes bkack on the screen then goes back to the browser? any ideas?

    Thanks again :)

    No, you don't want to use a image of the original HDL disc for this. It has protections.

    Take unclejun directions in a slightly different way, go to www.sksapps.com, download a pre-hacked HDL ELF and maybe Open PS2 Loader too.

    Make a ISO as per his instructions and use that.

    Edit:

    You might want to make sure the system.cnf looks like this:

    Japan:
    BOOT2 = cdrom0:\SCPS_200.01;1
    VER = 1.00
    VMODE = NTSC

    or

    USA:
    BOOT2 = cdrom0:\SCUS_200.01;1
    VER = 1.00
    VMODE = NTSC

    or even

    PAL
    BOOT2 = cdrom0:\SCES_200.01;1
    VER = 1.00
    VMODE = PAL

    Rename the ELF you want the PS2 boot so it matches what is on the BOOT2 line of system.cnf
    Wrong system.cnf may cause the system to kick back to OSD.

    So in conclusion I followed your instructions and created a SYSTEM.cnf containing;

    BOOT2 = cdrom0:\SCES_200.01;1
    VER = 1.00
    VMODE = PAL

    Then I got the hdloader 8c elf and named it SCES_200.01 and grabbed myself a DUMMY file

    I created an .bin using image burn adding the files in this order

    DUMMY3
    SCES_200.01
    SYSTEM.cnf

    Then created an image file. I patched the .bin with losers master disc patcher then burnt to a CD-R at 4x and it booted hurrah

    Thank you for all your tips :)
