I might be getting one of these as part of a trade in a few days. I need to know a few things though. 1: This is going to be an in person trade, included are the stand, the unit, and a DTL-H10040 network adaptor, is there anything else I should ask about that I may need later? 2: I already checked out the unit and the hard drive and DVD drive seem to work, I got video output from the PS2 side, any further testing I should do if possible? 3: the unit was used by Left Field Productions, known for their World Series of Poker games, there was a DVD-R in the drive, should I be trying to negotiate for that too? 4: the unit seems to have been refurbished at some point, date code is May 2000, does this have any significance? 5: Being an early unit, is there a way to back up the internal hard drive and if needed replace it if it fails?
You're talking about a T10000 and not a H10000, right? 1: if the network adapter is part of the deal, maybe the seller has the external hdd with 100-240v power supply, you don't need it though. 2: DVD drive seems to work? plug a pad and try a game, only way to be sure 3:your call, are you interested in any of the game developed by that company? 4:nothing significant I would guess, unless added network compatibility or different SBC card. 5: open the unit, extract the hdd, plug it somewhere else (or let it in place and use an usb/ide adapter or a long enough ide cable...) , make an image of it using any linux distro, or whatever you like, I used g4u for my hdd dumps via ftp.
Oops, yes I though I typed DTL-T10000, I actually have it now but thanks anyways, now I get to join the PS2 Tool Owners Club. ^.^
