Hello, it's true that real debuggers don't display SCEA/SCEI/SCEE on the bottom of the PSX license screen (that's verified for my DTL-H1002, DTL-H1102 and DTL-H30001E) But my DTL-H10000S displays ALWAYS the letters SCEI on the bottom and always "Licensed by Sony Computer Entertainment, Inc." even when a PAL game is inserted as text string! How can I verify the authenticy of the debugger? It came with original box (destroyed in shipping with tape ) and the label on the back shows also DTL-H10000S and NTSC/J Power supply is 220V as stated on the label. I read DTL-H10000S debuggers cannot read originals from other regions except Japan and masterdiscs. I have no masterdisc patched here to confirm it. Inside the menu, the DTL-H10000S shows "SCPH-10000", but I noticed this before on screenshots of other DTL-H10000S. The -S debuggers have no TEST on them, that's clear from ASSEMblers post. I really want to make sure, my 70 EUR debugger (hehehe) is real.
If the unit says SCPH-10000 on the system information I would be inclined to say that you have been had. But as I don't own one of those particular models I can't tell you for sure, the person to ask is ProgrammingAce, he actually owns a DTL-H10000S. As for what discs it will play, I believe that you are right when saying that it will only play Japanese retail and master discs. This I believe this is for the simple reason that the other regions didn't exist at the time of manufacture. From memory my DTL-H30002 S when running a playstation game from: US - Licensed by Sony Computer Entertainment America (although I can't verify that as I no longer have any games from the US) Europe - Licensed by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Japan - Licensed by Sony Computer Entertainment, Inc I'm not exactly sure what you meant about not displaying SCEA, SCEI etc but this is what mine does and there is absolutely no doubt that it isn't a legit unit. Just one more thing, if your debugger is legit then it is actually a DTL-H10000S E, don't alarmed that there is nothing on the unit, as the only place it said it was on the box. Hope all that helps
No - you've not been had. All my DTL-H10000S machines have always done exactly what you are saying MikroLogika.
I 've got 3 of them, but i'm not sure off the top of my head... i'm inclined to agree with dickibow tho.
I never bothered looking at menus. It plays cdr any region, has no mod chip on the mb, so investigation usually stops there. Hit the seal with a hair dryer and it comes right up with no "void" Check the insides, then reheat the sticker, reseal.
I don't want to open it. Warranty seal was already broken when the DTL-H10000S arrived. Anyway,it's real, because it plays PS2 NTSC/J games fine and refuses PS2 PAL and NTSC/UC - tested with Final Fantasy X - and plays any region original/copy PS1 game. I asked that question, since I already read multiple times about morons trying to chip a debugging station - just seach Google and you will find a fool who installed an Origa chip into a debugger. Those people don't know what a debugger is for and think it's a normal PS2. Same case with my Ebay seller - he probably thought that this DTL-H10000S is a broken PS2 because it does not read any PAL games )))
I think you'll find that DTL-H10000 consoles and SCPH-10000 consoles didn't come with the warranty stickers... Can someone else clarify this for me?
