I picked up a DTL-H1001 with S-Video port. From what I can dig up on the web, no 1001 should have a S-Video port. Wondering if this is a prototype/early model maybe? Anyone have any info? Thanks. Here are some pics:
That's standard on models that were shipped prior to the US release of the system. All initial DTL-H1000 and DTL-H1001 units (along with SCPH-1000) had the S-Video port. Later units did not have the port. What you have is simply one of the early batch of debug units. -hl718
Mr. Rare, thank you for sharing your pictures. It was news to me too that there was an early batch of U/C Debugging Stations with the s-video port hl817, thanks for your info. Can someone help me get the complete story. Is there an early batch of the DTL-H1002 with the s-video port too? Which Debugging Stations were grey? Only the DTL-H1000H? From what I understand so far: DTL-H1000H, JPN first batch (?), all grey (?), had the s-video port Early batch of the JPN DTL-H1000, all blue (?), had the s-video port Early batch of the U/V DTL-H1001, all blue (?), had the s-video port CF
I have an early DTL-H1002 (PAL) PlayStation console. It too features the s-video port. Looks like all regions got early blue PSX debuggers with the port on it.
Mr. Rare, Dickibow, have you noticed any issues with the shading on red objects? As I'm sure you too have read, there is supposed to be an issue with Gouraud shading and red objects in the early Debugging Stations. One should be able to see it in Crash Bandicoot. I, however, have never seen it. My debuggers (DLT-H1001, DLT-H1002,++) all have PU-8 motherboards - that lack the s-video port. I though these were the first models. Now I understand that they're not and that there are different versions of the DLT-H100x units. I guess your debuggers have the PU-7 motherboard since they have the s-video port. I would be very interested to know if they have the shading issue... CF
I have no idea what version motherboard etc I have in it. As for the red shading thing too...um....I can't complain. I can't really tell to be honest.
