I've been investigating some of the unused and testpoints on the DTL-H2000 and decided to drop the info here: Whilst the external serial and AV ports are non-playstation in design, the board happens to have a properly-ordered set of unpopulated pins at J801 and J806 for connecting the Playstation style MultiAV and Link ports: Another nice feature of the board (for crazy people like myself) are the testpoints for 3.3v(approximate), +5V, -5V, and +5V Digital, as well as their associated grounds. The -5V should allow for the easy incorporation of a simple RGB to Component circuit without the need for an external power supply. Hope this is of use to someone- I'll try to determine what the other ports relate to on here later on.
Very interesting post. Thanks for sharing ! I wonder about scsi plug on pio board. is it pin compatible with a normal scsi hdd (LVD UW2) ? It need only a gender changer for connecting a HDD ?
thanks- I'm not too convinced it is scsi... for one, the boards are more or less exploded ps hardware with a lot of ?unused? test points... secondly, my initial look at the drive- what i thought were termination, I'm thinking it is more just for isolation, and the drive is realistically more or less almost direct-drive... I'll try to document the chips on the board a little more when i get a chance Unlike retail ps boards, the cards are at least 3 layers, maybe more, so getting a proper schematic isn't going to happen without some serious work and/or equipment I don't have.
Would it be possible for you to provide a pinout of the audio and video port? I have some boards but no a/v cables to go along with them so i want to wire my own from regular vga cables. I do see that you provided the pinout for a/v but I need the pinout of the back port that looks like vga.
