I search the pinout of the cable between DTL-H2010 cd-rom and DTL-H2000 dev boards. Someone has it ? thanks !
According to SilverBull it exists diferents revisions of PIO dev board. is it a nice guy can give the pinout for build a CD-ROM cable ?
From the Sony docs ? Stickies Sony docs, are you sure ? I read the most of these docs and I never find any references about pinout of DTL-H2010 CD-ROM cable.
couldn't be simpler... . _________=__________ . [1 - - - - - - - 39] . [2 - - - - - - - 40] (cable end facing) to . \ 1 - - - - - - - 39 / .. \2 - - - - - - - 40/ (cable end facing) EDIT- just fyi- around 22 or so of them seem to share a common ground. I can investigate a PROPER pinout if anyone is really interested- is this really just a scsi device? there's 2 control boards in the thing but the first looks like an overblown terminator... the interleaved ground lines on the port though sound right for scsi.
Sorry, already tried this. This pinout does not works, it blown some fuses on pio2 board. Maybe next week I will able to post the pinout from original cable, and where to find the connectors. it's pretty sure that is not scsi.
OK, big bump for making your own DTL-H2010 CD-ROM cable. Parts needed : - Yamaichi NFS-40a female connector --> pitch of 1.27mm for connector pins --> 2x20 ways pins --> type IDC - flat or ribon cable --> 0.635mm pitch - 3M Sub-D MDR40 connector The pinout : From female NFS con on the cable : same thing for MDR40 male con on the cable 01 is red wire connector end facing. 01.03.05.07.09.11.13.15.17.19.21.23.25.27.29.31.33.35.37.39 02.04.06.08.10.12.14.16.18.20.22.24.26.28.30.32.34.36.38.40 Pinout from inside MDR40 connector : 01 is red wire inside connector facing --39--37--35--33--31--29--27--25--23--21--19--17--15--13--11--09--07--05--03--01 40--38--36--34--32--30--28--26--24--22--20--18--16--14--12--10--08--06--04--02-- Making the cable : First, take flat cable and cutter. Cut aproximatively 1cm between each wire to unlink them. Then, isolate every 2 lines, start by the red one. The MDR40 plug is composed of 3 parts. The connector himself and two others pieces of plastic for locking and auto-stripping the cable. The most anoying thing is to fit the cable in plastic guide. There is only one way to put the wires on the guide you cannot flip the cable if you have separated wires in the wrong way. Plus, plastic guide is very breakable. First isolate wires like this : Then, put the guide on cable from the side. If the wires don't fit completly in the guides no luck, you'r inverted them. When wires is well inserted in guides, lock them with the second part. After locking it, cut any wire above the connector. If you don't, the cable don't fit in MDR plug. Take your cable and push them into MDR plug. Push gently but strongly. Finaly, the easy part. Take the other end of the cable and put it in the NFS connector. Be carful to the pinout. Push NFS connector and tadaa your cable is ready to use. It exist many plugs shielding for MDR standard. One for round cable and other for flat cables. There are sold separatly, don't forget that. At this point your cable is functional, but you need to add some grounding and ferrite for EMI. Nice work dr.wily, with this cable you can connect the internal dtl-h2510 to the dtl-h2000 playstation and it actually works?
