    I just recently bought a used DTL-T10000 i was hoping someone might be able to help out with some info since i couldn't really find any straight answer while searching the forums.

    1.) The controller port is broken at the connector to the ribbon cable and i was wondering if a controller port from a phat ps2 would work? i had found this one on ebay and it seems to be the same though it has 2 tabs on the top that mine does not have. EBAY

    2.) The retail side isn't reading retail disk nor isos patched with LOSERs master patch so i think the laser is at fault. Now i know it take the laser model khs-400a but i was wondering if it would be possible to replace it with say a khs-400b or does the part #s have to be exact?

    Thanks in advance

    The controller port on the TOOL is from the version 0 PS2, so as long as you get the same port it should be okay.

    As for the laser I'm not sure.

    I tried a newer laser on on my DTL-H10000 and it worked. I dont remember what revision it was but I think it was similar to what scph-39000's use because I tried the same laser in that and it worked. Should wait for other replies though, I dont know if its ok to use those lasers in those older consoles long term. As far as the controller ports, I THINK those from scph-30000 might work, but again, dont take my word for it.

    BTW good to see youre still around PS2Guy. The guy in your picture trips me out...

    Hey thanks Cyberghost, been busy setting up my hosting company, and school and work and blah blah blah. My picture is of Serj Tankian, one of my favorite artists.

    AFAIK:
    KHS-400A -> KHS-400B = O
    KHS-400A -> KHS-400C = O, but it's not 100% mechanically compatible as the MECHACON is set up to work with the heavier KHS-400A.
    KHS-400A -> Any 'R' type laser = X

    You can't use KHS-400C on a TOOL because it uses the same assembly/mechanics as a SCPH-10000.

    You can only use KHS-400A and KHS-400B.

    The 400C will work but you will screw the laser flatcable, making the repair worse later on.

    Just DON'T put the wrong laser on such a expensive system you will likely regret on the future when you figure out you can't replace the laser flat cable because it's special.

    Yeah, that cable is so fragile, only looking at it might break it. Look out.
