I've recently acquired a DTL-T10000H A though it doesn't appear to boot. The startup sounds normal (4 light beeps (1 low 3 high) followed by the startup beep). CD/DVD DRIVE stays lit green. EMULATOR, TOOL, WS are all unlit. The HD light flashes for less than half a second and then stays out. Black screen on VGA and normal A/V out. The previous owner claims they were able to get it to boot to the normal TOOL screen and could connect to the webserver to setup. Mode was set DVD / TOOL. But no combination has any other effect. There are 8 dipswitches in the back set: OFF ON OFF OFF ON OFF ON ON Display flashes on reset. Was wondering if anyone from here had any ideas on where to go from here. HD problem, maybe?
I have the dafult dipswitch settings in a manual at home, I'll post them in an hour or two. I can't imagine the seller would have changed them between posting those photos and shipping it to you though. What kind of TV are you using (NTSC or PAL)? For a start, the DVD/Emulation switch should be set to DVD, and the TOOL/WS switch should be set to WS in order to network into it. When the dipswitches are set correctly, this should boot to a network information screen, provided you've got it hooked up to your router. Call up the IP address on this screen through your PC internet explorer, and you get the TOOL set-up screen.
Changed the front switches to DVD and WS. No change in behavior though. TV Out is black. The TV is NTSC. As for VGA out. I've tried 3 monitors. All get some kind of signal when the Tool is turned on, but none can display it. (Though the monitor could do up to 1600x1200) Would be much appriciative of any info about the dip switch settings. Thanks.
Hi. According to the manual, the following are the default settings: 1. Off (downwards) 2. On (upwards) 3. Off 4. Off 5. On (for NTSC) and Off (for PAL) 6. Off 7. On 8. On As mentioned before, it should be set to WS and DVD. Turn the main power switch on, then turn on the On/Standby button. This will start the initialisation process. During this, the On/Standby button turns green and the TOOL indicator turns orange. Do not operate the unit during initialisation. After initialisation, the On/Standby button will still be green, and the TOOL indicator will turn a yellow-green colour. The network settings should now be on the screen. Failing this, you're on your own I'm afraid.
No Luck. So I decided to start taking apart my newly found $2000 paperweight. I started to realize there are a number of hidden ports on the T10k. On the back there are two card slots covered by steel plates. Removal of the plates reveals a Serial port, and a VGA port. Removal of some additional tape under the plate reveals PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports. Plugging a monitor into my newly discovered VGA port reveals a startup for a standard PC Bios running an Intel Celeron 566Mhz. But the BIOS halts wanting keyboard input saying "Warning! CPU has been changed." And prompting me to set the CPU speed in the BIOS. Its running a standard Award BIOS. I think the PC side just lost CMOS power and I just have to reset things. Yep! That was it. I continued on, and the system brought up Red Hat 6.2 and in the process brought up the PS2 hardware and the webserver. I'm booted and at the TOOL screen and can get into the webserver from a remote machine now. Hazzah!
I also having this problem, just got mine, and turns on but no signal in the monitor, neither the PS2 side. it does 3 beps, and one bep at the end. the back pins are in this position. down,up,down, down,up,down,up,up. what would it be?
Are you using the correct VGA port? You might have to open the Tool to re-seat the SBC card or check for broken PCI port or loose cables inside the unit.
