Recently received a DTL-T10K only to find that the controller board's ribbon cable connector needed repairing, however after replacing the connector and hooking it up - it still doesn't seem to work.

I was wondering what else I could try and whether anybody knows if a SCPH-10000 controller board would work on it instead?

Not a clue, but I've got a SCPH-1001 controller board if you want it. If you also just want to test it with your unit and if it doesn't work, send it back, and if it does, then I'll ask $4.20 for it. :p

How did you test the controller ports? I think that virtually no homebrew software will run on the TOOL (assuming that it has a late ROM version, like from SDK v3.00), out of the box.
As for that custom build of OPL that I gave you previously, I think that you have to plug the controller in before starting it. I don't remember if the original DualShock was supported, so you should try using a DualShock 2 if you weren't using one.

Some retail games do not support the original DualShock.

I am currently using a DualShock 2 controller to test the controller ports with the custom build of OPL.

I've even tried having the controller connected before turning on the TOOL and still nothing. I'm thinking that the cable might have slipped out of its connector on the board itself and not the connection to the controller board, which I'll check when I fully disassemble it - but I think the board needs replacing, still.

Have you tried booting any games on it yet? If you could do that, that would be a great way to determine whether that build of OPL was defective.
