Hello everybody. Im one more dtp t1000 psp development tool user in need of some help.
But let me tell you my story:
I bought this unit and a decr 1000 ps3 reference tool from ebay (wich is a working unit in great shape ( now already flashed with fw rebug le)
Unfortunately my psp dtp t1000 system came with 1.5 cp fw and will have to setup as soon as i have time for that, a computer running ubuntu or something in order to system boot the machine (weekend project).
Atfer reading a few threads here and grabbing some relevant files like the leaked psp sdk i googled a few words and sentences and came across this website : http://oss.sony.net/Products/Linux/Others/category01.html
Heres also their warning : http://oss.sony.net/Products/Linux/notice.html
I am sorry for being so noob but i wondered if this could be helpfull for someone, hence the problem of getting those more recent and more convenient dtp t1000 sdks with fw updates.
Im not a programmer, developer, more of a noob enthusiast, that until now with all the valuable info and help i could grab, have managed to succed in modding , hacking my systems so... i guess i dont want to get owned by this one.
I would like to ask you also the following.
Assuming that i can only boot this from 1.50 will i be able to at least to use 1.5 homebrew stuff?
What happens if i boot in 1.5 from a umd that asks for an update? It will not run?
Well sorry for my poor english added to the fact that im using a tablet.
im in the same boat to find a way to update this machine to a more convenient status, but we all should try right?
Pm are also welcome but i trully wish and hope at least there could be something here.
What are your two cents oh mighty users of this forum?
    Greetings from Portugal

So, from what I gather, you were looking to get more recent OFW PSP SDKs to update your DTP? They're a bit hard to come by, at least for Development Tool updates, and will require a suite of SDK tools to update.

Also, I believe that DTP's are not able to run homebrew (I may be wrong, It also doesn't have the MemoryStick Game option), The UMD update shouldn't update your firmware as it targets a different hardware, so it should invalidate.

Yes thats it but i tought that i could use ms to boot from game and stuff like a regular psp...
So do you think it will run only from umd drive and dvddrive?

Nope, they've only started allow access to the Memory Stick from FW 4.00+ (I think?), so you'd only be able to use DVD/UMD drive to boot programs (or host development computer using the SDK) :p

I'm actually running this on my own retail PSP, the firmware was used for testing the network update internally by Sony, by default it supports MemoryStick and is not a direct DevTool FW.

So it is possible. Mathieulh made this video.
But i really wonder if these source code tools could help in some way.
Im no linux experienced and fluent kind of guy...
I also have downloaded that bogus psp Fw along with all the files psp related that were posted in here.
Maybe someone can at least without sharing those infamous Sdk 's help flashing and running this bogus fw.
So do you think 1.5 update provided with the leaked sdk has no ms game option?

Actually it does have a memory stick option since firmware 3.95 or so.

I would not advice using the bogus firmware for that, it's easier to replace the vsh from 1.00 or 1.50 to the retail version, this allows the memory stick option to show up and even still lets you use all the debugging features and start prx/elf from host0:/ (assuming you keep the original development kernel)

It however prevents you from using either UMD or DVD, so that's something to take note of.

Well thank you alll for replying me.
Hi Mathieulh very nice to meet you. You are a psp legend man!
So according with your reply if i replace vsh, i will be able to run at least 1.5 compatible homebrew and stuff? Right? Well at least i could have something to fiddle around instead of this non working system.
This weekend i am going to setup the linux environment for flashing 1.5 fw provided with the sdk and finally boot from there.
Can i count with your help if needed?
Im a noob, a father, and busy working guy , so first i need to learn everything i can in those docs provided with the sdk and other files. Right?
Now im also curious with those dtp t1000 and decr source codes i found in those websites i provided. Could they be usefull for anything ?
Thanks for your feedback help and input guys.

They're nothing. Just stuff sony has to post for legal reasons. You won't find or get anything out of them.
