Just re-discovered this PC-version in some boxes in my attic. And I have no idea where to post this on assembler. Not obscure and rare enough anyway, I guess. ;D I got my hands on this GameStop Promo Box in early 2011, when the game started to get announced for sale. Its the final artwork, same text and only the barcode differs from the official (german) one. (5026555057295 vs. 5026555057950) The box is empty. Im aware there have been Promo Versions for the PS3 (Red discs), which probably have been the full final game. I dont know if there have been (leaked) promo version for the PC or if there have ever been discs in these boxes. Nothing big, probably worth 0$, as every gamestop on this world had similar boxes in their own language, but I as I didnt find anything reagarding "Promopackung" or promopack + duke nukem forever...I thought I share this one here. It says "Promopack - Not for sale, ask our salespersons" (german: Promopackung nicht für den Verkauf Fragen Sie unsere Mitarbeiter!) and "Kauftipp" on the Gamestop logo, which roughly translates into "best Buy". Its printed into the cover, they arent stickers.
Regardless of the value, I enjoy picking up display copies of some games. So I can certainly relate to the appeal. I have an unfolded oversized display box for this game. From what I remember, the artwork is final, but still neat items. Thanks for sharing!
