Someone I know (via the internet) wants to dump one of these. It contains a prototype demo:

It only seems to work on dev 3DSs. The gateway dumper (which makes bad dumps, I think, but it would be better than nothing), doesn't work on dev 3DSs.

There might not be much chance of it, but does anybody have any information about the differences between these types of carts and normal carts, how to run the gateway dumper (or other dumper) on a dev 3ds or how to dump one it some other way?

[see gbatemp thread posts for more info]

What happens if you try to run Gateway on a dev 3ds? Is it the dumper that is flawed or is it that the exploit can't even launch?

If its the latter, I would expect that it might be because of different kernel offsets between retail and dev. It might not be too difficult to port it if this is the case.

    Exploit won't launch on a dev 3ds.

Well then this leads me to believe that its a problem with offsets. It may be possible to port one of the open source hacks to the devkit if you can find these out by dumping the ram using the exploit.

I would suggest talking to the developers of BRAHMA and Pasta CFW. Check out this file specifically. Its where the offsets for different firmware revisions are set. https://github.com/capito27/Pasta-CFW/blob/master/Brahma_Fork/include/exploitdata.h

If you could get the correct offsets for your dev firmware you could run this or any other exploit available to the retail 3ds. I'd love to help more but obviously I'm limited because I don't have access to a devkit myself. I'm sure the developers of those porjects would be able to help you dump the offsets though.

    Good Luck!

Any luck? Have you tried using the DEV cartridge with a retail console using the gateway dumper?

No, unfortunately. MKGirlism has tried that.

Well then I would suggest trying to port the PASTA CFW to your devkit firmware. All we need to do is dump that information then compile the CFW with the right info. I'll shoot them a message to find out how we can get those offsets and let you know if there is some sort of tool they use.

what firmware is the panda 3ds you tried? it shouldn't be too hard to port one of the many exploits to it (assuming you have a nice entry point aka. devmenu or cubic ninja).

I have some ideas about this but I'm a abit busy atm. I'll see if I can come up with a plan in the next day or two.
