    Hi guys,

How do you go about backing up/dumping your GB carts? Recently I discovered that my "English Pokemon Green" cart was an elaborate hack of the US Pokemon Blue. Someone suggested me to these forums to see if I can get the file dumped and uploaded, and then compare it to an original Pokemon game.

Here are some pics of the cart and in-game shots.

This is relevant to my interests. If you have a 64drive check out agbd, my game boy dumper.

Do you have a gamebit to open it up?

Pokemon Green has been dumped many times, over and over again. I don't mean to make it rain but... Unless you're sure it's a unique hack you own, then by all means dump it.

the original pokemon green (jpn only) was exactly the same as the blue version too... thats why only red and blue were released in the usa

Sort of. red and green jpn had the different original tilesets, pokemon pics, unknown dungeon map, etc.

blue jpn introduced most new things that usa players saw.

Yeah from my experience years ago... AFAIK some japanese copies the famed "surf cinnabar or seafoam coast" tricks don't work. (zero wild Pokemon encounters on those tiles)

English speaking Pokemon community has largely ignored exploring that to find out things like the program code difference or how to identify such carts.
