Dump via SD Card (you know those handmade adapters for the serial port)

Unless I'm wrong (very likely) you wouldn't need a Japanese Dreamcast, only a Dreamcast in general

@darkspire17, where in the world are you located? If you don't have the necessary tools in house, surely there will be trusted members that will be more than willing to give a helping hand.

The best option would be to use a System Disc 2 + BBA and the httpd-ack software burned on CD-R.

Which tools do you have in house?
    ? System Disc 2
    ? BBA
    ? SD adapter for Dreamcast

Australia, and i dont have any experiance with the DC, not touched one in YEARS, the disc was sort of an impulse buy, thought id get it just to have it preserved.

Really curious to see how this pans out, would be great if it contains early code!

@darkspire17, dumping a GD-R is not difficult at all as long as you have at least a System Disc 2 and either a BBA or SD-adapter for Dreamcast. I would highly advise against doing any sort of swap-disc method, unless you have experience with that. Please let us know which tools you currently got so we can advise which are the best steps to take.

it wouldent feature anything too early, like i said, its a sample disc of the international version, aka the US release, with added titlescreen ripples, camera location changes, and fixed glitches, the us version was released as the "international version" in japan
