Does anyone know if it is possible?

I've got no access to a BBA or a Coder's Cable so my only bet is the 56k modem.

I don't think it was ever made. Of course it'd be possible, but given the low-speed of modem, no one cared enough to implement it. Maybe you can take a look at FreeBSD for dreamcast ...

Bios is at address 0x0, and it's 0x200000 long (2 MiB).
Flash is at address 0x200000, and it's 0x20000 long (2 kiB).

The SD-Card cable would do the job if you can build/buy it (cheaper than BBA/Coder's Cable). Dirt cheap (From 10 cents to 2 bucks maybe ...) solution is the parallel port cable, works only on Win9x. I've personally dumped my bios with this cable years ago: http://f17.aaa.livedoor.jp/~takotako/index.php#dcpprip

I guess the sources for dcload-ip are around, but they would be of no use right? The modem seems to be a complete different hardware, uh?

I've got no idea on electronics but that cable seems easy enough to build. Thanks for the link!

    I don't think there's a driver available for the modem, it's a softmodem btw.
