I wa going through my old AD&D PC games and got to wondering what rulesets each game was based on. I know that Baldurs gate was 2nd edition and that Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth was 3rd and Neverwinter nights was 3.5. Are there any other standouts that clearly used the pen and paper rules? And Yyes, I know there are a butt load of D&D games.
I am unsure if the 2 Dark Sun games used 2nd Edition. Icewind Dale II used 3rd. The Temple of Elemental Evil used 3.5. Pool of Radiance:Ruins of Myth Drannor used 3rd Edition. There arent many DnD games beside the old Gold Box series,Eye of the Beholder, the Infinity Engine Games and Neverwinter Nights.
The old SSI Goldbox series, was the ADD version of the rules (so it is the second edition if I recall correctly). But I could be wrong, but I do not seem to think I am totally wrong with that.
Dungeons and Dragons Tactics on the PSP clearly uses 3.5 edition rules, to a fault. Every combat scenario takes hours to resolve, which is either tedious or cool depending on how much you enjoy the ruleset.
Dark Alliance uses 3rd, according to the box. I'm guessing Dark Alliance II is the same. Baldur's Gate II uses 2nd.
