I don't know if it's the correct thread to post this, but I need some help.
Sega officially announced the Dural, then the name changed to Katana and finally to Dreamcast.
The problem is that I've just found an article on a magazine (italian) from March 1998 where they say that the name Katana has been put away for another name: Uranum.
I can't find any info on the net about this name change, that should be the last one before the word "Dreamcast".

Any additional info-confirmation is much appreciated. Thanks!

Uranum? I think maybe it was Uranus (or Uranium) seeing how Sega had a planetary theme going for their previous consoles (Mars = 32X, Neptune = 32X/MD combo, Saturn, etc). Though I don't recall ever hearing this codename used in any of the mags I read back in those days.

I thought the Uranus console was just a hoax (seriously, who would name a console that)

Wasn't there a cartidge only "Jupiter" project going on at the same time as Saturn development?

that was SOAmerica's power PC based "64bit" cartridge based system. The saturn was preffered as a SOJ design of course.

PS: Sonic Xtreme was also first intended for that platform I remember reading somewhere a long long time ago, then moved to other platforms
