My parents have handed down a 32" LCD HD TV to me and I'm currently using it as a pc monitor as anything is better than my old 15". It looks pretty fantastic but I'm convinced it could look better. My Geforce 8600 GT has dual DVI output and I am using a VGA step down to connect it to my TV, however I recently came across this: http://www.tvcables.co.uk/cgi-bin/tvcables/1M-DVI-HDMI-PRO.html Would a DVI to HDMI connection provide me with an HD quality picture or is VGA all thats needed to get this?
unless you need your vga port for anything else, and the picture output is fine with it, stick with the vga, but the dvi-hdmi would work as well, it really depends on what screenmodes/resolutions are supported on your vga input and hdmi
Rip off! I use my laptop on my 1080p tv with a £3.20 dvi to hdmi adaptor i got from hong kong and a cheap hdmi lead. Does 1080p perfectly. Check ebay for cheap dvi to hdmi and i think PLay.com have a cheap £5 cable. Theres cheaper dvi to hdmi cables on ebay.
