Hi all, Sorry if these questions have already been answered before, I did a search but didnt find much. I just got a DVT4 and would like to backup the files on the hard drive and just wondered what is the easiest/least intrusive way of doing this? I have a modded Xbox and usually use FlashFXP to transfer files over FTP, is this possible with a DVT4? The DVT4 looks in reasonably good condition, but appears to have previously been opened, and one of the screw posts are missing from the SCSI port so the port is slightly crooked:- What type of screw is this, and can anyone recommend a good place to find/buy a replacement? Since its already been opened I would like to open the casing to check its internal condition, but since the daughterboards are connected to the top half of the casing I guess this wont be as easy as a retail Xbox. Is there a disassembly guide for a DVT4? How easy would it be to upgrade the hard drive? (Would rather leave the original hard drive untouched) I know the debug bios has a 137GB partition limit, so I planning on using a 120GB hard drive. I dont want to change the BIOS or install a modchip so would rather leave it 'as is' if its not easy. I believe I will need a copy of the recovery disk, and think the last revision was 5933? Lastly, on the external casing are the remains of some 'VOID' stickers:- Are these normally present on a DVT4? They just seem to be in odd places where a VOID sticker would make no sense. I would like to carefully remove them if they are not original (Not using chemicals) Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance
If you want to backup the files from the HDD, get a copy of the XDK tools for PC and install them. There should be an Xbox Neighbourhood (or something similar) icon on your desktop allowing you to access all partitions on the xbox HDD. If you don't see Xbox Neighbourhood on your desktop search for the 'Install shell extensions' in the XDK start menu group. Just copy and paste files across. Once you're connected to it. I hope this helps
