nice countdown. I'm hoping for specs for the next-gens. Perhaps if the PS3 has high enough specs, we could see Microsoft inject a faster processor or more ram into their design -P.
You guys checking out the videos at Gamespot? Sony's press conference is up there. Some nice stuff, assuming people don't make too many shitty games.
Okay, b/c the mods will probably slap me for making a seperate thread (which this deserves) I'll list it here. The E3 horse shit list: --------------------- SONY: "PS2 is the most powerful machine on the market" (or at least they eluded to that.) -We won't get into specifics, but it should be obvious. Microsoft "Halo 2 enjoyed the single "largest" day in entertainment history. $125 million bucks in one day." - In numbers, FFVIII sold over 2 million (or was it 3) copies in Japan on launch day - Also in numbers, DQVIII recently sold 2 million in two days... I'm not sure if they broke 1.5 mil on the first day or not. Maybe too close to call. - In money, PS2 sold a million units (90% through pre-orders) at 39,900 yen a pop. Similar #'s for the US launch. - How many movies have done $10 mil or more on their first day? "Right now six of the top ten selling games are Xbox titles." -What's the western equivalent of Famitsu? This can't be right. "In the HD era, we're going to reach 1 billion people with our medium." "Next generation, a billion people will play our games." -This is a generally confusing statement. Does that mean 1 billion people will buy the Xbox? That's almost 20% of the world. Anyone got the numbers on the poverty line? I don't think 20% could afford it if their life depended on it.
I think that last statement is reflecting this "connected house" thing that Microsoft are aiming for, ie dad uses it for stocks and shares, sister uses it for Britney videos to her room, mum for shopping at Tescos, friends come over and play multiplayer on several different monitors from one Xbox etc etc. Just a nice big number which they probably didn't calculate particularly scientifically.
The Nintendo press conference is available streamed at Gamespot now. And Cahaz -- they're the same place where the "EDIT" button is.
eh, yeah sorry, but i have some problems with that famous edit button sometimes, i wonder if it have anything to do with firefox? anyway, i don't want to start a firefox rulez/firefox's shit debate here (or anywhere else)
Sonikku, if you happen to at any time this week come down with severe gastrointestinal pains, it's just me vigorously stabbing the voodoo doll - no need to go to the hospital or anything. You just enjoy your time there, if possible.
