E79 - During failed update, any way to recover?

    I think im wrong, Like extremelly wrong I must have been high as fuck when I said this.

    He meant dvd key...
    That one is regenerated with certain recoveries.

    Yes and i think only with DVD-Recovery. Not over remote.

    I would suspect if you had a side car or an infectus chip you might be able to fix it. In a flash you are usually doing two parts one upating the boot memory and then the flash drive with a new dash and boot files. I know if it was just the flash drive you would get a e79 but if you put in the disc again it would go through it. Sometimes it can take a couple of times. The other part you are updating memory and were it points to. So if it is bad you need to be able to step thorugh it to see were it is off.

    what would a sidecar do to this matter?
    infectus is not needed... just pop in the recovery disc and use a WIRED controller

    Interesting - that implies that the KV on dev boxes has to get regenerated (unlike retail boxes). I can dump the KV before and after a dev update and check...

    I my opinion an Infectus is very handy. Remember that it is easy to lose video and network support on those early Zephyrs. I have not gotten a recovery disc to fix those problems - have you?

    Yea those early Zephyrs are pretty buggy.
