I want to clean some space on my games HDD, but came across a stupid doubt on EA games DRM / machine limit "feature".

Currently i have 4 EA games installed (Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 - Uprising, Crysis 2 Maximum Edition, Medal of Honor 2010 - Single Player and Mirror's Edge). The problem is that only Medal of Honor has the "deathorize this machine" option on Steam context menu.

Of those 4, i'll only keep Mirror's Edge so i want to know the correct way to uninstall them without losing an activation. I google it but haven't found a answer on how to do it correctly.

I did find an official EA page with deauthorization tools ( http://activate.ea.com/deauthorize/ ) that has some games like Red Alert 3, Mirror's Edge and Medal of Honor 2010, but no more info about it.

So do i have to "deauthorize" the game before uninstalling or just go right to the uninstall? All those games are "Steam versions" with no disc CD Key, just the humble bundle keys registered to my account.

PS: Also have not installed Burnout Paradise Ultimate Box and Dead Space (like those mentioned before, were humble bundle Steam keys) and also Mass Effect Collection (1 and 2) bought in the last Steam Summer sale. Any info about a deauthorization process needed for those that i should know?

I believe authorization is to your Steam account not to your PC exactly.

It'd be stupid for it to be that way, since people often upgrade their PC starting from scratch.

It's EA we are talking about, so it is that stupid. Medal of Honor has that "Deauthorize this machine" context menu because there's a 5 PC limit activation. Even upgrades may flag it as a new machine, hence the deauthorize tool.

Anyway, i've had confirmation that the Steam version of Mirrors Edge doesn't have any sort of extra DRM or activation limit. Still have doubts of the others, plus if uninstalling directly also deauthorize the machine.
