Early Quake previews and Mortal Kombat 2 preview from magazines

Thanks for sharing. I love how it opens up with misinformation, labeling Quake as the sequel to DOOM. Also that first paragraph is a hilarious plug. "Everyone knows its the greatest computer game ever..." Do we all know that, huh?

 

I saved just about every magazine article about doom, quake, or fighting games back when I was wee, but then in some fit of stupidity threw it all out. Always nice to see them pop back up again.

All the Quake pre-release press is the perfect example of how you can come up with a bunch of gameplay ideas that you might THINK sound cool, but are better left un-implemented. Sometimes the simpler gameplay is the best, and Quake is a stunning example of that.
