I am not a SFC fan or collector, but perhaps this scan will interest somebody here. This scan is from the PCE mag of 10-1989 after the Nintendo meeting the 28 july. You can see early screens of Super Mario World and DragonFly.
Don't remember seeing the SFC with red plastic before. Looks pretty good. Guess they ditched it to move further away from the Famicom's look?
Whenever I look over these kind of scans one thing strikes me - game screenshots look much more exciting in print form than online. I miss the days were the first look of a game you'd get were within the pages of CVG, Gamesmaster, Edge etc.
Nice, thanks for this, looks very nice on paper, I miss the gold old magazine days too, the french ones actually... (Player One, Consoles+, Joypad) Have you got more of these? Sabre
Sabre : You meant PCE mags or french mags ? I don´t have keep my old french mags, but we can find them (all pages are scan) on the net.
Oh sorry, I should have been clearer, I meant more SFC pictures like the one you posted, but PCE and PC-FX are very welcome too. Sabre
I think there was here some old topics with early SFC pictures. But I can put them if you want. I also have early PC-FX pictures and I never see early PC Engine pictures.
Nice to see the insides of the earlier SFC. If you want to see more pictures from the same SFC demonstration, or even earlier, you can look here: http://www.disgruntleddesigner.com/chrisc/secrets11.html
the shot of the proto-snes' pcb is really cool. looks almost final, apart from the fact that the bottom ext-slot is missing and the dram is somewhere else. maybe they didnt even use dram but sram for that one.
I've never seen any dumps of the Super mario world prototype EVER. and I've always wanted to play it in that form. Good stuff brings back memories of wanting a system my parents weren't going to buy me.
