Hello, I'm interested in modding my PAL Xbox (1.1). I've looked around a little bit and what I realised is that modding an Xbox can be quite complicated. I don't need network functionality or media playback, all I want is to be able to play burned backups from any region. Is it possible? If yes then I'd like to know the easiest mod possible that allows to do that. Thanks!
USB flash drive, adapter cable, and exploitable game is enough to just play around in. Legal issues aside you can even HDD install backups, technically no need to open the console. Except limited to its puny factory size...
Works for all versions, and does what you asked. http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?46169-TUTORIAL-Softmod
As long as the game hasn't patched the bug. Of course harder to find one suitable for a Japanese Xbox.
Err... How do I do that? Also I have an RGB SCART cable, can it output 480p and is there a better video interface that is compatible with the Xbox?
Enigmah homebrew replaces the 50/60hz dashboard option, with 480p/720/1080i. My softmod package included it anyway. Unless you're using a component video SDTV for some reason (I own one but use Xbox on the HDTV). Then it's pointless. As far as I'm aware Xbox won't output 480p from RGB SCART normally. I don't have that cable to try.
