I sold a gift card I had that I wasn't usings. It was $200, so I sold it for $179. All the store has is upscale prices but the items were crap quality. The item sells but the guy wanted me to email him the code. I would never, ever do that. I plan on mailing it express, signature only. The buyer has 99 feedback , all positive. Do you think them asking that is a bad sign of fraud? I plan to require signature, can you think of any way I might get scammed even with the precautions?
Well to be honest most of the gift card sales here we normaly get the code emailed. Though most of the time it tends to be xbox live membership or points and things so not in the same value.
how about sending it signed by post and emailing the code at the same time? the signed post will be proof you sent it and the guy can have fun starting with buying stuff.. So basically you should only agree if he agrees to pay the shipping fee as well.
Well thats useless as he can just refuse to sign it when it arrives. Then turn around and say it never arrived.
Indeed. How did he pay? PayPal? Then no, there's absolutely no way you can avoid getting scammed. I would still only send it registered, so it is tracked and needs a signature. At least you have proof for PayPal that way. If you can see the code, photograph it or take a copy. That way, you can always take it up with the shop - check it has been used. Or, if he files a chargeback, quickly use the token, then dispute his claim
:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: ^^^^^Unfortunately, this is the sad, sad truth about ebay.^^^^^^ This is a tough one, id say you should be fine because of them having 99% positive feedback, but ive been screwed by people with 99% before!! ( ordered shadow madness for my little sister, it came missing a disc and the seller insisted that they were all there, even after i told him they werent). I would do it but signed post only, just to be safe!
You could do: 1. Ask for payment other than PayPal, like a Western Union money order. 2. Draw out the transaction passed the PayPal date so he can't pull a bait and switch to charge back you. 3. Empty your PayPal account as soon as payment is made so PayPal can't dip and take it back.
But everytime money is put in paypal if you sell something else, that money goes straight to the claim.
I had that happen with a halloween costume. It was missing the vest piece to a shadow ranger suit. and the woman said i was lying and trying to scam her because she packs every package her self and every one of those suits weighs like, 2.7 pounds or something so she would have noticed if it was missing the chest piece because of the weight etc. Well the cehst piece is like, .5 pounds, so that's impossible for her to tell just by holding it.... but after a few messages back adn forth and she gave me the "weight" of the package, I took a picture of the shipping label that said "2.2 POUNDS" and she was folded, appologized and sent me the rest of the suit...
Is good that you at least got her to correct it. I ended up having to *cough*torrent*cough* the other disc for shadow madness ( my listtle sis wouldnt leave me alone about it! she was seriously unhealthily obssessed with that game for a year or so)
