Ok, so...A week or so ago, I won the game Raiden for PC Engine on Ebay... After I had ordered, dj898 made a post saying that the eBay user I got it from was a scammer who does legit sales until they have nice feedback, then screw people over. I was scared shitless that I wouldn't get my game... So...today...I get my game....and....and....and....it's Final Soldier. A very sweet game in it's own right, but not the game I ordered. I could complain to the seller, but I have a fear of getting nothing back if I return the game...and I'm sure I'll get negative feedback if I do complain... I probably would have gotten Final Soldier eventually...and it's about of equal value...Eh...thoughts? Recommendations? Anyone?
You have to at least make it known...if you decide to return is another situation...he needs to know of the problem so it can be fixed before it happens again..you have to think someone else is upset and prob received Raiden....
Id tell him. see if he does anything about it. If nothing comes of it say you will keep the game and ask for good feedback. Then screw him in with bad!
If you paid with PayPal they will start an investigation, ask you to send it back with tracking, and when he receives it that will be proof that you've sent it back. PayPal wil then force the funds back. But if his account is empty ....that would suck. try doing a chargeback with your credit card company if nothing else works out. good luck. :smt023
Paypal will then withdraw money from his accounts if he doesn't do so voluntarily. It happened to a friend of mine.
Don't bother dicking around with Paypal. The only way you'll get any money back is if they get screwed by him by some sort of fraudulent behavior. They are assholes, don't mess with them. I'd just keep the game, or sell it and buy another copy of the other game. Better than ending up with nothing.
I'd say keep final soldier - but somehow make it known to people that this ebayer sort of sucks arse. Maybe we should start an Ebay Blacklist for assembler visitors to check and people to vent their auction frustrations?
Have some fun with this guy. Give him a piece of his own medicine. There are a few things you can do: 1) e-mail all of the current bidders on his auctions with your story. do this after you get positive feedback so he can't nail you. 2) You have 90 days to leave feedback. So, wait until the 89th day and leave negative feedback, then it's too late for him to nail you in return. 3) Return a screwed up version of the same game, ( or better yet, buy an el-cheapo copy of Kieth Courage and make a phoney label for it and return that.) Two positives here, you get your money back and/or the game you wanted, and the next person he sells your "copy" to complains about this ebay scam artist. 4) Of course, you could just return a box of rotten fruit, doggy droppin's, or dead rats. Put all the crap into the box, wait until you see greese spots on the outside, then put it in another box and send it. It'll stink up his whole house. Don't put your real address on it. Have fun.
how about paperbook, not powerbook - remember that saga?! seriously I'd contact AND ask Paypal for refund. They did for me when the seller by all their wisdom instead of checking whether I paid for the item - I did two days after the auction ended - simply filed non paying bidder claim. I left negative feedback for the seller and asked Paypal for the money back. They refund the money four days after and eBay removed the warning a day later... Normally I'm calm and nice person but when someone screwed me around I have no patience to deal with...
Do not keep the game, this game is not what you won or wanted and paypal WILL get you your money back if you used their service and if anyone tells you different they are wrong. I got screwed by a moron in Canada for 86.00 dollars and paypal wasted no time in getting my money back, As soon as I made a call to paypal they put a hold on his account so he could not withdraw my funds and had me file a fraud complaint. This was not the first time paypal has recovered funds for me, on ebay I will never do an auction with a seller that does not use paypal. I want to stress that this is a rule I only use on ebay. Send the guy an email first, pehaps he mixed up his orders, this was the same thing that I just went through this weekend, I won Shining Force for the Gen and received a D&D game and Uncharted water insted, I emailed the seller and sure enough he mixed up the orders. Now the question is will the person who got my order return it ?? If not the seller is going to refund my money so I was able to settle this without the help of ebay or paypal. If in fact this is a scam do not let this person continue to screw other people, nail his ass. As a note the idiot from canada that screwed me with bidding on his own auction and others was one of three picked up by the FBI for a number of charges including Mail fraud on ebay.
Definately contact him about it. Send an e-mail (be nice/respectful, it will go a long way in making the whole thing easier) telling him there was a mistake and you got the wrong game. Send a photo of it, with the packaging, if you're able to. Ask him what your options are - if possible, get him to ship out Raiden under something like Delivery Confirmation (and get the number that you can check) before you send out Final Soldier. If he's not willing to work with you, just leave him negative feedback, and if he leaves you negative in return, you always can post comments to feedback, explaining that it was left in retaliation.
