    Common English expression:

You won't get anywhere near what you paid for it = expect a huge loss if you want to sell.(AKA you were ripped off, often!)

It is a Genesis. Note the Genesis logo, the Genesis in the unit and the Genesis pads.

    The seller is either:

    1. An idiot
    2. Keyword spamming to get more hits

Keyword spamming is common, as are phrases like OMG RARE!!!!11 (usually on something as common as a loose SMB cart for NES)

I remember seeing the FZ35's kiosk M2 things going for 30 USD new/boxed for a while I think around 2006 then all of a sudden 2008/9 they were going for 100+ used.
I was never interested in this M2 hardware as it didn't have the 3DO logo on it and I didn't consider it a game console, so I was never tempted to buy the boxed paperweight for 30 bucks.

I was simply confused about what he meant, but figured that was what he meant;-)

    Here's an odd one:
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290383213732

this guy is selling odd thrown together "yaroze" lots which are anything but, HOWEVER!

Check image 4 on this listing:
    http://i.ebayimg.com/15/!Bh2y1fg!mk~$(KGrHqQOKjYEslvmdE-gBLLR0qNshQ~~_12.JPG

Besides being blatently obvious that he has NO idea what he's talking about with the spelling of SCUZZI, any idea what the hell it is?

I sent a few questions to the seller- waiting to hear back.

Dreamer... If you look through their feedback you can see they sold one of those debug units for £155 on open auction not too long ago. I like their over use of the word 'rare' in nearly everly listing they have up too:icon_bigg

Using an SCSI device from the pad port? it doesn't seem very productive to me.

A mobile phone I can understand (heck, I bought the thing), but come on, even the printer adapter uses the serial port, and the psyq cartridge (wich uses scsi) is plugged in the parallel port....

His stuff is badly overpriced, £80 for the yaroze sdk disc alone! And I'm quoting the auction: ONLY A HANDFUL OF THE NET YAROZE CONSOLES HAD THESE DISCS INCLUDED, yeah right!

so far his responses for information on the device, or even a good idea where he got that information from has been useless...

I've been pondering it it may have instead been some early version of a multitap or controller emulator of sorts, but neither seem likely. As you say, the speed of the controller bus is too slow to make it worthwhile for any of the uses he lists (except printer, but the scarcity of scsi printers alone makes that a joke)

Should I move these posts over to the sony thread, btw?

Most of the people who paid $3000 for an m2 sold later, and for less.

In one case he sold little more than a few weeks later, for about $2100 if I remember... never buy when you have important bills/ needs!

Nahh, you're right, consoles ain't exactly the best investment out there, and should only be acquired when money ain't tight;-)

Note that he doesn't sell the yaroze serial cable with it....you'd probably have some troubles finding where to plug it...
