Afaik, those are what the real N64 test carts look like. That's what mine looks like anyway, and they are relatively well documented around the net.

I believe it was used in Nintendo Service Centers.

But that price... Hall of shame worthy indeed.

For the ones that does not know what this is, This is a N64 test cart, it tests the consoles buttons/slots/memory and also of that of the controller. it gives a ding when it passes and a dong when it fails. there are actually 2 versions.

a working one could go over 1K pending on version/condition/blabla but a broken one? .. kinda useless..

Seller isn't wasting time milking the holiday rush with rare or scare item. No different that those $1,000 PS4 or $1,000 XBOX One in the past.

PSIO is only $150 AUD, an used PS console in USA (with Dual Shock controller and Sony memory card) is probably $20, plus another $25 for that EZ mod job to install board, but no way worth $500. $200 USD tops maybe.

 

Lol a GBOX for $2,000 maybe if it had the RJ-11 controller ports it would be worth that much or near factory but, no special reason its 2k

 

I have one I got in better condition for like 5.00 $ at a yard sale long ago.

 

Just wondering if you even saw that it has a PSIO with it... Doesn't justify the price, but someone might send him a nice offer.

 

Allegedly a beta of Snatcher, but it's so late (and as the website he mentions states) is likely just a review copy the same as retail. Wants $17,500... but will take offers - and is good enough to include free Worldwide shipping for that!

And I bet "Version GG" is short for Gone Gold.

 

To be fair, the use of the term "sample" when it comes to JP games applies to anything from an early prototype to a pre-production-media-but-final-data version (and heck, I think sometimes to just a "sample" sticker placed on a retail item).

But that is still an absolutely ludicrous price. Unless undumped and confirmed to be different from the final version, I don't think CD-based protos are nearly as popular as ones on carts.

I've been looking for a matching controller to my Halo Xbox and found one that still had a memory card in it as well at a Flea Market today. I was able to talk the lady down to $5, so I went on E-Bay afterwards to see the average price just for kicks (about 25 btw) and saw this.

 

Fat chance LMAO. I sold this for $50 the other day. It's maybe worth $70 max lol.
