Without a doubt. Ebay are assuming that people are as retarded as them and won't jack up their prices. People aren't going to start selling their items at a fucking loss. What morons. Someone burn that company to the ground please.
Are you certain this includes international shipping? That would be a scam. No more Divers Dreamcasts from Japan-Games I'm sure h:
Free shipping is just a way for eBay to collect fees on shipping prices. A Divers is $265 shipped from Japan. eBay wants the PayPal fees for that plus they want to add on their eBay fees for $265. If the free shipping is true then we'll just have to see how it all plays out. They're probably going to force you to have one free option, but not all free shipping. You can talk about adding the shipping cost into the auction price, but not all buyers want the same shipping method. A TV can be $100 by SEA or $300 by EMS. So do I list my $500 TV for $800 or $600? Buyers still need the choice to decide what shipping they want because it's choosing what overall price they're willing to pay. eBay is just trying to be Amazon. They want a standardized process and they're trying to force all Sellers into one line. But it's a contradiction....you can't have an online marketplace made up of people from all over the world while at the same time having one selling process. They're trying to centralize something that's decentralized by nature. They can't have it both ways. You can't turn the average Joe selling his video game console into the same process that a company like Amazon uses when they sell directly. But by God they're trying. One thing I've noticed is that eBay is trying to make it harder for international Sellers who don't live in the US. They've already done the capped shipping prices and now next the DSR ratings won't include international transactions. Forcing free shipping will be yet another hurdle for international Sellers who aren't in the US. I think eBay is trying to make eBay strictly a marketplace for US-based Sellers then they'll do the same for their other international sites. That will help them with the standardization they want. At that point we might see an opening for someone to start what eBay was in the beginning...
