Hi, I recently just won this item: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8213283537&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT&rd=1 and emailed the guy for shipping. I didn't get a response, but an invoice for the final cost (.99) + 15.00 shipping. He's obviously trying to compensate for his lose on the disks by putting a high shipping price, but what should I do?
always ask before bidding! if no price for shipping is listed there, you're on bad luck in 99% of the cases...those ripoffs are extremely commong at 99p BIY acutions of stuff like that... write ebay, that he did not list the shipping price and now is trying to get a much too high shipping cost
I did email 53 minutes before the auction ended, and was hoping to get a response before it ended. Then there was a few minutes left, so I put in $2.00. Damn, oh well , I sent him this email. Can't wait to hear the reply:
No it doesn't cost that to ship what you won. I shipped like 19 xbox games in their cases in one box and even bought bubble wrap and it wasn't even half that. Thats just a common way to reduce the listed price. It's not really ripping you off, although it is lame to not just list the $15 s/h right there on the page. I bet he even picks the cheapest mailing option too, or shoves them all in a media mail pouch..bitches.
Yeah, I've been ripped off like that, for a Genesis 16-bit console that had a picture with the box and everything. $0.99, plus $12 shipping. The thing came with no box, controls, or adapter (basically the console itself), and the console looked like someone got mad while playing & slammed it against a wall . Ah, well...
Well, you're forgetting that Canada is another country. So it costs more to ship to the US from there. Not $15 more, but it would still be more than inside the USA. Just get his address and go to the Canadian post office website and calcuate shipping, and if it's too far off dispute him.
well years ago when I started using eBay I won this giant chogokin toy for $9 - but didn't read the small print that shipping would be $75 worldwide... still as I wanted that chogokin it was worth and at the end of the day I paid what it would normally cost anyway... You live and learn...
send him the $1 and tell him he can burn it. That way you won't get negative feedback or any ebay action cause it didn't need to be shipped anywhere
