Looks like an Echo Delta proto was sold on Yahoo Japan the other day. One bid, ~$1100.

We knew of 2 copies of this already but this could be a 3rd one as I didnt recognize the seller's nickname.

I didnt see the auction until it had ended though...anyone else catch it?

Cheap. It went for half of that a few years ago.

In Euro's tho, the price hasnt gone up much.

I seem to remember bidding the equivalent of ~€630 on the last Echo Delta auction, and this one sold for ~€766, some 2-3 years later so thats just ~6.5-10% increase per year.

This game actually is dumped - wether or not the ROM is released is a different story.
I just contacted the owner of (one of) these carts (Sold on eBay back in 06 for a huge sum)... Here's what he said about it.

    Nice work handofg0d!

It'd be awesome if you could track down the seller and ask what became of the rom release. If it's planned to be in the wild, posting it here should be fine. He might be nice enough to send it to you. :)

Yes Echo Delta is dumped, and does exist, but it was on very exclusive FTP and was not there for long, and access to the rom was only given to those collector's trusted enough not to throw the game onto p2p or torrent sites, and it will stay that way as no one is in a hurry to see the game all over torrent sites. That's the situation for now, there is actually three known of protypes of the game. Two have been sold on Yahoo Japan, and another one was sold on ebay, and they were all different cartridges.

Well I absolutely loved Marigul's team's Nintendo 64 game's, and this game to me looked like being one of the greatest experiences on the console, but I am huge fan of real time strategy game's, and especially game's with submarine's.

It just looked like an iconic Nintendo classic, and the only reason it got canned was because they saw no profit in releasing another n64 title that was not a bigger franchise, and maybe because they saw it being released on the gamecube, I don't know. Seems silly to can complete game's, especially one's with potential like Echo Delta.

Still I hope for the day that it will maybe appear on the DS.
