    hi!

i cant save an d load a game in Rogue Squadron since I updated the last few OS Updates.

so I am on OS1.22 and Firmware 2.21

Mario Golf saves and loads the game - Rogue Squadron doesn't

the save option is on EEP4K per default, and I didn't change it.

perhaps someone could try his ed64 with Rogue Squadron and tell me where the savesate is saved to? mine is in the same directory, as the games are :( but even if i copy the file into the "SAVES" directory it wont work

    :(

ed64 can't create save file in folder where you put your roms,it completely impossible. saves path is permanent, and always use /ED64/SAVE/. so you probably doing something wrong, and if you have some save file in game folder, then this save was created by PC emulator or by someone else, but not by ed64.
i check Rogue Squadron, and saves work just fine! i chenage some options in game, and make game record, after reboot options still changed (optios setting is a part of save file) and my game record also still here.

uargs, now i am confused. i copied the file back into SAVE and - it works again.

Sorry for asking dumb questions :p but all I can say is it didn't work several times now. perhaps I copied the save file by myself while the 1.20/1.21 updates wheren't working and since then it remains in the wrong directory (most likely). Only thing I dont understand ist why the ed64 didn't create a new file when I tested the game from beginning, while the correct savefile was in the wrong directoy.

well, whatever... now it works again ;)

Thanks for the nice cart by the way!

PS: Could you reengage the "Saving to SD Card" Message? after the Reset? I liked it to see the ED64 was saving ;)

i can show some message, but new OS make a save transfer to sd much faster than old OS, so possible that you will not have enough time to read this message, especially for small saves, like eeprom

You could show the message for one second even if the saving is done faster. Probably one second willnot hurt anybody. Or it could be optional so everyone can chose ;)

Is there an LED on the circuitboard? Somezimes i think isee a light from within the case. If so i could desolder this led and fix into the case.

    hi,
my idee is somehow related to saving problems.
surely it's not worth a new version but if it's easy to code, a warning message
that the sd cart is write-protected would be a nice thing.
i have a old sd in which the slider easily goes up by inserting the card.

    cheers, saturnu

everdrive don't care about those small write protect switch, so does not matter if switch was off or on, cart will write on SD card in any case

looks like something wrong with your sd card. error 70 mean that SD card do not response on write command

You re Right. I tried a different SD Card and voila...it worked!

So i checked my main Card and i noticed that all save notes, are located in the root directory (normaly they must be saved under ED64/SAVES).

The Problem with this, was that i gave the Card a Name. I changed it to blank now and Saving is no Problem anymore.
