Can anyone give me some info on this? Pics would be great. I've been offered it for sale, but I'm not really sure what it does, and whether I actually need it. I've already got a Netfront browser built into BBPSN 0.32.

    Thanx.

I haven't dealt with it myself, but my understanding is that it's a limited browser built for a Japanese ISP back in the early ps2 days...
At least, out of the box, It only supports a USB modem/network adapter, and not pcmcia or dev9 options.

EgbrowserBB supports only the official network adapter (pcmcia and dev9), the one defor is talking about is either Egbrowser wich only works with an usb modem or "NetFront for Δ" wich only works with a Nec dsl modem.

It comes with an email client and a simple audio player. It might be possible to download files to the hdd with it, I don't remember.

    Pictures here: http://lorezan.free.fr/browsers/
All of them are from EGBrowserBB, except for the last four pictures (NetFront and NetFront for Δ)

They probably released the regular EGBrowser before Sony's release of the "Playstation BB unit".
There is another stand-alone version of NetFront, not for Nec dsl and ndis modems, but for some various brands of 56k modem.
And the japanese Playmore games all are bundled with a version of NetFront as well.

PlayOnline Viewer (Aka Final Fantasy XI) supports the USB modem based on the Broktree/Conexant chipset (same that is used with regular EGBrowser)
