I just heard about it, it seems that last friday Bethesda Softworks confirmed a new Elder Scrolls game for the end of 2011. From what they said and you can see on the teaser trailer, it seems to be a direct sequel to Oblivion.

    Trailer: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/vga-10-elder-scrolls/708369

I personally loved Oblivion, so I'll be waiting for this game (and I sincerely hope they do something about the bugs and the outdated engine...)

So announced for November 2011? That means we'll see it January 2013. :)

I can joke about Bethesda's slippery release dates as much as the next guy, but I don't actually mind. It's a rare game developer that's built up enough good will to get their customers to tolerate the product being late and buggy. I'm reasonably confident I'll enjoy the game at least as much as I continue to enjoy Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout 3. New Vegas isn't on that list only because I haven't played it yet.

Saw this the other day, great news, as everyone said above, it'll be using a new engine.

Can't wait to see this, just re-installed Oblivion last night, with tons (like 4 or 5GB) of mods :D

Can't wait for that one, after putting hundreds of hours in morrowind, oblivion and fallout 3/NV I'd still love to play some more bethesda stuff. I hope they will make world bigger than in Oblivion, something more like Morrowind.

Yes. Put in at least 400 hours into Oblivion.

Looking forward to the new engine.

All I can say is thank god it has a new engine. I couldn't play the new Fallout it felt really outdated and the amount of bugs were in insane.

    Great!
Oblivion is probably my most-played 360 game.
    Loved every minute of it.

I just hope they make it more like Morrowind in general. Better story, better world, world having set enemies in set areas, being able to wear clothes on top of armor, levitation...

You know, aside from graphics and the combat system, I really can't think of anything in Oblivion that was better than Morrowind. I'll give ya another shot Bethesda... but if I just pop in Morrowind shortly thereafter I am not looking back.

Not too thrilled over this game... Oblivion was kinda meh. Morrowind was where the fun was at. Oblivion/Skyrim just shy away from its old RPG elements...

I see the OCD kicking in as I end up spending hours decorating my houses. Fitting books on the shelves is such a pain in the ass.

    Totally agree.

Leveled loot and enemies just break the game for me, story went downhill too.

Oblivion had its flaws, but it is a great game nonetheless. I liked Morrowind, but found it to be a bit unplayable, back at the time, I had it for XBOX and played it on a 21" crappy CRT TV, I could'nt read a fuckin line of text without bleeding my eyes out, and that game had TONS of text.

I hope they made up for some of the mistakes made on Oblivion.

Going back to Morrowind, I've heard it is great to play the PC version with one of the graphic overhaul mods, but never had the chance to try it.
